Oil Painting In Colour
To have an oil painting portrait takes a little more thought and planning than a drawing or a monotone painting. It takes about a month to complete an oil painting to this standard and once completed can last for hundreds of years.
It is important that you think carefully about the photographs that you provide, ask your self does this photo really say something about who he/she is. If you would like to have a professional photographer take your photographs first, please ask Jessica and she can put you in contact with a photographer who will capture the subject in thier best light.
Materials
The standard size for an oil painting portrait by Jessica is 16" x 20". The size or shape of the canvas may vary slightly depending on the photo.
All of Jessica's oil paintings are created using artist quality oil paints onto canvas. You can choose between a deep edge canvas or a shallow edge depending on whether or not you wish to have the art work framed.
A deep edge canvas can be hung straight onto the wall and does not need a frame. A shallow edge canvas is ideal if you want to frame the piece before you hang.
